Exchange students in Finnish higher education
|
An exchange student completes a part of his or her degree course abroad (but not the whole degree), either in the form of academic studies or as a practical training period. The statistics cover mobility periods lasting at least three months. The data includes Finnish students studying abroad and international students studying in Finland. Exchange periods arranged through mobility programmes (e.g. Erasmus, Nordplus, and bilateral agreements) and those arranged independently by the student him/herself (freemovers) have been taken into account. The data is collected by the Centre for International Mobility (CIMO).
International degree students in Finnish higher education institutions
An international degree student is a student of foreign nationality who is enrolled at a Finnish university or polytechnic and aims at completing a degree in Finland. The data includes graduate as well as postgraduate students. The data is collected by Statistics Finland.
