Brief Description:

As the name of the network (Interprofessional team education promoting public health II) implies, interprofessional education (IPE) is the main topic of the activities. There has been great enthusiasm and interest in this area and a clear need to develop Health care education to this direction. Within NEXT STEP southern institutions have learned from their peers’ IPE experience and various IPE activities and started to implement those in their own educational activities.
By the end of 2014 8 of the 10 South to North and 2 out of 10 North to South student exchanges have been realized, and respectively 4 out of 5 South to North and none of the 5 North to South teacher exchanges have been realized.
One Intensive course on IPE was arranged in Eldoret, Kenya in September 2014. The last Dissemination workshop will take place in April 2015 in Ndola Zambia.

NEXT STEP partnership and southern cooperation has been instrumental in the process of founding the first African IPE association. NEXT STEP partners are the founding members of this association, with the lead of our Kenyan partner Moi University.
