Brief Desctiption

ICT4EEDU project aims to strengthen the human and infrastructure capacity of Eritrean Institute of Technology (EIT) to create and distribute electronic learning resources and services that are pedagogically sound and locally relevant, so that the EIT can take an active and informed role in the use of ICTs to address the Eritrean development and education priorities. EIT is the biggest education institution in Eritrea, with colleges of Engineering (including schools of Computer and Electrical Engineering) and Education. It also hosts the strongest university ICT centre, which serves as a model and resource to the other ones in the country. With these characteristics, EIT is in position to affect other institutions through the project implementation and results. Project activities affect not only computer and networking infrastructure of EIT, but also to ICT education skills, practices, and policies so that EIT would have good chances to educate students to meet the demands of rapidly evolving ICT society.
