Finnish around the world!

Video contest for students of Finnish language and culture in universities outside Finland

Why study Finnish language and culture? What is it like to study Finnish outside Finland?

EDUFI organized a video contest in 2016 for students of Finnish language and culture at universities around the world. The task was to make a few minute's video and talk about the everyday joys and challenges of studying Finnish language and culture at university or during exchange, traineeship or summer course in Finland.

The videos will be published as part of the centennial celebrations of Finnish independence in 2017.

19 videos from 13 different universities were submitted to the competition. Videos were creative, fun, touching, eventful and artistic. The jury had a demanding but a very rewarding task and they ended up rewarding four videos. The videos are now viewable at Youtube, on our Finnish around the world -playlist.
