What students need to know

Students who wish to undertake a FIRST exchange from Finland to Russia or from Russia to Finland should apply for an exchange place through their own higher education institution. FIRST exchange students must be at least second-year degree students enrolled in a network institution.

FIRST networks will select the exchange students and pay them the student grant. While the sending institution selects the outbound students, receiving institutions have the right to confirm the final selection.

FIRST exchanges are open to students in all educational fields, barring degree students of Finnish/Russian language. Student exchanges last for 3–12 months, and studies completed during the exchange are recognised as part of a student’s degree. Exchange students are not charged tuition fees. Students may participate in a FIRST exchange only once.
