Intensive Courses
Intensive courses are a possibility to provide joint teaching for students coming from the different member institutions of the network. The aim of the intensive course is to
-
share and produce new information
-
improve the quality of teaching for all parties involved
The course may last from 1 to 10 weeks. Courses take place in the institutions in the South. Each network may realise only one intensive course per academic year. It is also possible to utilise online delivery of teaching.
The course is fully credited at the home institution of each participating student. The institutions may not take study fees from students participating in the intensive course.
The number of students on a “regular” exchange at the time of the course may also take part in the course. The participants of the intensive course come evenly from all participating institutions. Finnish students may not represent more than 50 % of the total number of participants.
Covered costs
The following costs related to intensive courses can be covered with programme support:
- Travel, accommodation and subsistence costs of course participants
-
Costs related to the organisation of the course (i.e. premises, office costs, organisation of online delivery of teaching)
Financial support for organisation costs may be provided for the partner institution that hosts the course. Students and teachers coming from other participating institutions in the South are also eligible for support for travel costs.
Two (or more) networks may also arrange a joint intensive course. In this case, one of the coordinating institutions acts as a main coordinator for the joint intensive course and applies for programme funding on behalf of the participating networks.
