Organisations active in culture and creative sectors can receive funding through EU programmes.

Activities supported

EU’s Creative Europe programme’s sub-programme Culture supports cooperation projects between European cultural and creative organisations. Publishers can receive support for the translation and promotion of European literature. The Culture sub-programme also provides support for European networks and platforms.

Cultural organisations will also find funding opportunities in the EU’s Europe for Citizens programme, which encourages active citizenship.

There are possibilities also in the Erasmus+ programme, especially for cultural projects and organisations that are related to adult education or vocational education and training. Higher education institutions for arts and culture can also benefit from Erasmus+ for higher education.

The Nordplus programmes funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers also offer possibilities for educational and other institutions working with culture.

EDUFI in the service of cultural organisations

Finnish National Agency for Education EDUFI, Internationalisation Services, organises seminars and training on EU funding. In addition, training for ongoing projects, contact seminars and application workshops are available within some EU programmes.

The Creative Europe Desk Finland will be happy to assist in any queries regarding EU funding possibilities for cultural organisations and provide help in developing project ideas to match the funding criteria within these programmes.
